Journal of Arabic EdTech (JAET) recognizes the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in academic research and scholarly communication. While AI technologies may assist authors in certain aspects of manuscript preparation, the journal upholds strict standards to ensure research integrity, transparency, and human accountability.

1. Definition of AI Tools

AI tools include generative AI systems, language models, automated writing assistants, data analysis algorithms, and other machine-learning-based systems capable of generating text, images, data interpretations, or analytical outputs.

2. Permitted Use of AI

AI tools may be used for the following limited purposes:

• Language editing and grammar improvement
• Formatting assistance
• Improving clarity and readability
• Non-substantive technical support

The use of AI must not replace critical human intellectual contribution.

3. Prohibited Use of AI

The following uses of AI are strictly prohibited:

• Generating original research data without disclosure
• Fabricating or manipulating research results
• Producing literature reviews without verification
• Creating citations that do not exist (AI hallucination)
• Listing AI tools as authors

AI systems cannot be credited as authors because they do not meet authorship criteria and cannot assume responsibility for scholarly content.

4. Mandatory AI Disclosure Statement

Authors must disclose any use of AI tools in manuscript preparation. A dedicated section titled “AI Usage Disclosure” must be included before the References section if AI tools were used.

Example statement:

The authors declare that AI-assisted tools were used for language editing and formatting purposes only. All intellectual content, data analysis, and interpretation were conducted by the authors.

If no AI tools were used, authors are encouraged to state:

The authors declare that no AI tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript.

5. Author Responsibility

Authors remain fully responsible for:

• The accuracy and integrity of all content
• The validity of data and analysis
• The authenticity of references
• Compliance with ethical standards

The use of AI does not reduce or transfer academic responsibility.

6. Reviewer and Editor Use of AI

Reviewers and editors may use AI tools only for limited language or structural assistance. Manuscript content must not be uploaded to external AI platforms that store or reuse confidential information without authorization.

Confidentiality of unpublished manuscripts must be strictly maintained.

7. Detection and Misconduct

If undisclosed AI usage results in fabricated data, false citations, or misleading content, JAET reserves the right to:

• Reject the manuscript
• Request clarification or revision
• Issue corrections or retractions after publication
