Journal of Arabic EdTech (JAET) is committed to upholding transparency, accountability, and integrity in authorship practices. Authorship should accurately reflect individuals’ contributions to the research and manuscript preparation.

1. Criteria for Authorship

To qualify as an author, individuals must meet all of the following criteria:

1. Substantial contribution to the conception or design of the study, data collection, data analysis, or interpretation of results.
2. Participation in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
3. Approval of the final version of the manuscript prior to submission.
4. Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring accuracy and integrity.

All four criteria must be met to justify authorship.

2. Corresponding Author Responsibilities

The corresponding author is responsible for:

• Ensuring that all listed authors meet authorship criteria.
• Managing communication with the journal during submission and review.
• Confirming that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the manuscript.
• Providing accurate author information and affiliations.

3. Acknowledgments

Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately. This may include technical support, data assistance, language editing, or general supervision.

4. Changes in Authorship

Any changes to authorship (addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors) after submission must be formally requested and justified in writing. Approval from all listed authors is required before such changes can be made.

Authorship changes after acceptance are permitted only in exceptional circumstances.

5. Prohibited Authorship Practices

The following practices are considered unethical and are strictly prohibited:

• Gift authorship (listing individuals who did not contribute significantly).
• Ghost authorship (excluding individuals who made substantial contributions).
• Honorary authorship without meaningful involvement.

6. AI Tools and Authorship

Artificial intelligence tools (including generative AI systems) may not be listed as authors. Authors must disclose any AI-assisted tools used in manuscript preparation. The responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript remains entirely with the human authors.

7. Disputes and Investigation

In cases of authorship disputes, JAET will request clarification from all involved parties. If necessary, the journal may contact affiliated institutions to facilitate resolution.

Failure to comply with this authorship policy may result in manuscript rejection, publication correction, or retraction where appropriate.

8. Commitment to Ethical Authorship

JAET promotes responsible authorship practices and transparency in scholarly collaboration. Accurate attribution of contributions strengthens the credibility and integrity of academic publishing.
