Complaint & Appeal Process
Journal of Arabic EdTech (JAET) is committed to transparency, fairness, and accountability in all editorial and publishing processes. The journal provides a structured mechanism for handling complaints and appeals related to editorial decisions, peer review, publication ethics, and administrative matters.
1. Scope of Complaints
Complaints may relate to, but are not limited to:
- Editorial decisions (acceptance or rejection)
- Alleged bias in peer review
- Delays in the review process
- Ethical concerns or misconduct allegations
- Authorship disputes
- Conflict of interest concerns
2. Submission of Complaints
All complaints must be submitted in writing to the editorial office and must include:
- A clear description of the issue.
- Relevant manuscript details (ID number, title, submission date).
- Supporting evidence where applicable.
Complaints submitted anonymously may be reviewed but must provide sufficient evidence for assessment.
3. Appeal of Editorial Decisions
Authors who disagree with an editorial decision may submit a formal appeal within 14 days of receiving the decision notification.
The appeal must:
- Provide a detailed justification.
- Respond specifically to reviewer comments.
- Present evidence supporting reconsideration.
4. Review of Complaints and Appeals
Upon receipt, the complaint or appeal will be reviewed by:
- The Editor-in-Chief, or
- A designated senior editorial board member not involved in the original decision.
If necessary, independent external experts may be consulted.
5. Decision and Communication
After review, the journal will:
- Uphold the original decision, or
- Request further clarification, or
- Reconsider the manuscript for further review.
The outcome of the appeal is final. All decisions will be communicated formally and documented for record-keeping purposes.
6. Confidentiality and Fairness
All complaints and appeals are handled confidentially and impartially. JAET ensures that complainants raising concerns in good faith will not face retaliation.
7. Commitment to Accountability
JAET is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of editorial integrity and ethical publishing. The Complaint & Appeal Process supports responsible governance and reinforces trust within the scholarly community.
