Journal of Arabic EdTech (JAET) is committed to upholding the highest standards of research integrity and ethical publishing. The journal takes all allegations of research or publication misconduct seriously and follows a structured, fair, and transparent investigation process.

1. Definition of Misconduct

Research or publication misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

• Plagiarism or self-plagiarism
• Data fabrication or falsification
• Duplicate or redundant publication
• Improper authorship practices (ghost, gift, or honorary authorship)
• Undisclosed conflicts of interest
• Citation manipulation
• Unethical research involving human participants
• Undisclosed or inappropriate use of AI tools

2. Reporting Allegations

Allegations of misconduct may be reported by reviewers, readers, editors, or third parties. Reports should include clear evidence or specific concerns and must be submitted in writing to the editorial office.

JAET ensures confidentiality and protection for individuals who raise concerns in good faith.

3. Preliminary Assessment

Upon receiving an allegation, the Editor-in-Chief or assigned ethics editor will conduct a preliminary assessment to determine whether the claim has sufficient basis for further investigation.

If the allegation is clearly unfounded, the case will be dismissed with appropriate documentation.

4. Formal Investigation

If the concern appears credible, the journal will:

1. Notify the corresponding author and request clarification.
2. Review submitted explanations and supporting documentation.
3. Consult members of the editorial board or independent experts if necessary.
4. Where appropriate, notify the authors’ affiliated institutions.

All investigations are conducted impartially and confidentially.

5. Possible Outcomes

Depending on the severity and findings of the investigation, JAET may take one or more of the following actions:

• Request manuscript revision or correction
• Reject the manuscript
• Publish a correction notice
• Issue an Expression of Concern
• Retract the article
• Temporarily or permanently restrict future submissions

6. Post-Publication Misconduct

If misconduct is identified after publication, the journal will follow its Retraction & Correction Policy. All corrective notices will remain permanently linked to the original article and DOI.

7. Appeals

Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions related to misconduct findings. Appeals must be submitted in writing with detailed justification. The appeal will be reviewed independently by a senior editorial board member not involved in the original investigation.
